Having made your first edits with JOSM, there are a couple of tips and tricks to learn to make your daily mapping life in this JOSM easier. JOSM, considered an advanced mappers tool, is an easy-to-use OSM software that makes mapping in OSM easier and more interesting using plugins and various mapping tools.


This workshop aims to introduce those with JOSM for beginners skills to advanced editing techniques in JOSM. We will provide help with your first steps to plugins and mapping tools on JOSM,, introduce tips and tricks working with complex shapes, background imageries settings, to do list plugin among others.

If you’re a newbie to OSM, I encourage you to go through ID for beginners and advanced ID tutorials first before this workshop. This will give you the chance to compare ID and JOSM during the workshop and get to appreciate JOSM and the techniques you will learn from it.

All workshop attendees are required to download the latest version of JOSM prior to joining the workshop.
